Hello, I'm new to this forum, only because I understand that many of you iphone guru's could help me. My iPhone 3g receives an error (1604 ) when restoring, It will not turn on when it is unplugged. When it has a power source, plugged in to computer, wall etc. it will work. I am currently on 3.1.2? I am not sure. I remember way back then I tried upgrading to 3.1.3 but it kept receiving random errors. Right now, it is on the plug-in mode. and I am hungry for any solution. I dont care if 4.0 is slow, but i'm upgrading and seeing if an upgrade would make the phone work. If you have any solutions to help me have my iphone ON when it ISNT plugged into a source, i would thank you very much. also, I've tried different computers, and different cables.

iPhone 4 - Only turns on when plugged in to power source.

What's up guys I'm trying to repair a family friends iPhone 4. Her phone suddenly turned off and wouldn't boot back up. When plugged into a computer the iPhone doesn't boot into the OS but simply stays at the Apple logo screen and nothing. When plugged into a wall outlet the iPhone 4 will boot into the OS but when it is finally booted it will tell me to 'restore' my iPhone. When the iPhone is NOT plugged in it is not responsive. When plugged into the wall outlet I proceeded to do a reset to erase all data and settings, that went on for a couple hours and I interrupted it because of how long it took. I got back into the OS and reset the network settings and then the phone rebooted and it was working fine, even without power from the cable! Shortly thereafter it turned off yet again and I have been unsuccessful in restoring it back to its original state. iPhone 3GS only works when there's 3G

My iPhone 3GS says “no signal” when there is no 3G signal or if i deactivate 3G. Do you think it will help to change this part. where the gsm-antenna is located? Or do i have to change the logic board? Thank you!

iphone 3g switches off when I insert SIM card

I recently dropped my iphone 3g, now when I insert a sim card it switches off after 10 mins to 1 hour. If there's no sim it stays on all the time and works normally. Any ideas PLEASE?

iPhone 3G Battery drain while plugged into electrical outlet

An odd problem recently cropped up and was wondering if anyone else was experiencing this issue. I am new to this site, but have checked out the FAQ's and Stickies, also did a few forum searches and couldn't find a post on this issue, so I decided to post. iPhone 3Gs continuous reboot when plugged in

Please feel free to skip the background and read the problem. Background: I have an iPhone 3Gs that was getting poor battery life. It was one from my father after he upgraded. I am pretty tech savvy, graduated with BSEE from Purdue University with a lot of lab experience, and thought I could replace the battery myself with one from an iPhone 3G that was still working. I watched a few videos on YouTube about disassembling the iPhone and replacing the battery, so I tried it myself. I was able to successfully swap the batteries of the 3Gs with the 3G and both devices powered ON when I was finished. I let the phone charge overnight, it worked properly, and my alarms went off this morning for work. This is when I ran into The Problem. The Problem: I don't know exactly when this started happening, but it was within the 1 hour time period from when I woke up (and unplugged the charger) until I got in my car to come to work. iPhone 3G plays music when headphones are removed

Has anyone else had this issue? Often when I remove my headphones the iPod will start playing a random song. Hardly ever the same song. It seems to be happening more and more. Scenario 1: Listen to AOL Radio app. Stop app. Remove headphones. iPod starts to play random song. Scenario 2: Listen to iPod. Stop iPod. Remove headphones. iPod starts to play random song -- not even the same artist. Scenario 3: Make call using headphones. End call. Remove headphones. iPod starts to play random song. I called Apple support and this has been an issue both before and after 3.0 installation. Seems to be happening more with 3.0. My iPhone has never been wet. They directed me to an Apple store. Unfortunately for me the closest Apple store is a 45 minute drive. However, the closest AT&T store is just about 10 minutes away. I am thinking of heading there over lunch.

iPhone 3G plays music when I remove the headphones

I've had this happen twice today. Neither time was i listening to music prior to the head phone removal. Once I got in the car. I took out the headphones, and could hear it playing the first song in the music list. Then again later today. In both cases, the phone was used as a phone prior. I made a call or 2, then put it aside. Then pulled the headphones out of the jack, and it starts playing music from the speaker. Anyone else had this?
