Application freezes when printing

Fr eezing at Start-up

Stamps may freeze on the "splash" screen (see image below) when starting up, before you are able to log in. This problem typically occurs when there is an issue with the connection between Stamps and the integrated postage scale, and can easily be fixed. To solve this problem:

Application freezes when printing

Try turning off the postage scale and attempting to run Stamps again.  If this solves the problem, we recommend that you leave the scale turned off when Stamps is not in use, and only turn it back on after you are logged in to the software.

C rashing when Opening the Batch Interface

Stamps may crash or close unexpectedly when opening the Batch interface.  This problem is typically due to the Batch order files having become corrupt or damaged, and can be solved quite easily.  To do so:

  1. Close down the Stamps software.

Using your keyboard, hold down the 'Windows' key and press "R". This will open the "Run" window.

In the "Run" window, type %appdata%

Then click on the "OK" button. This should open the "Application Data" folder.

Open the "Stamps Internet Postage" folder. Warning: the next step will temporarily remove and then replace all of your imported orders in the Batch interface.

Right click on the "Batch" folder and select "Rename". Then type in "Batch Backup" and press "Enter" on your keyboard. This will remove your imported orders from the Batch interface.

Open the "Profiles" folder, then the "Versioned" folder, then the folder with several numbers in its name.

You should see a file named after your Batch Profile. Right-click on this file, and select "Edit".  If you do not see "Edit", select  "Open With" and choose "Notepad".

Click on the "Format" menu and ensure that "Word Wrap" is checked.

Delete the date and time after "LastRefreshTimePreviousSession=". Do not delete the quotation marks:

Save and close the file, then log back in to Stamps.  You should now be able to open the Batch interface.

Refresh your Batch profile and set your start date to the day of your oldest order. This will import your orders back into the Batch interface. This can sometimes result in recently printed orders being downloaded, so please check for duplicate orders. Application freezes when printing
