Every phone comes with its own selection of ringtones that you can use as notifications for a call, a text message, or an alarm. You can go online and find ringtones of your favorite songs, your favorite movie quotes, and more, to fully customize your phone. The steps to do this are easy.

1. Find a ringtones website. If you're not sure where to look, try Myxer and Funtonia, both very popular ringtone sites. You can also type "free Verizon ringtones" into your Internet search engine and get a bunch of options. If you're searching, make sure you include "Verizon" in your search. That way you know you'll be getting websites that offer ringtones for your phone.

2. Once on the website, you can select the music genre for the song you want, such as "90s," "Classic Rock," or "Theme Songs." You can also search for a specific song name or artist. If you're not sure exactly what songs you want, most websites will show you a list of their most popular ringtones. You can browse through that list and see if you see anything you like.

6. Type in your phone number when they ask you. They may also ask you for information about your carrier so they know they're sending it to an eligible phone.

7. Once they have all your information and you've submitted the order, check your phone. You will receive a media message via text with your ringtone in it. Note that if you have a phone plan that charges a fee to send or receive media messages, you will be charged that fee for this ringtone, even if downloading it from the website was free. If, however, you have unlimited texting and media messages at no cost, you won't be charged anything.

8. Save the ringtone to your phone. It will then be available in the same folder as your other ringtones, and you can use it however you want.
