Mobizen  is a tool for remotely connecting your Android phone or tablet to your computer without rooting. remotely control every aspect of the device either tethered by USB cable or cordless over WiFi or from your mobile internet plan with carrier. Note: USB connection is much faster and smoother with virtually no lag and in real-time- whereas WiFi has only a slight lag depending on your connection speed.

This screen mirroring power allows you to send and receive text messages or continue a WhatsApp or Kik conversation remotely, receive and take action to notifications, type with your keyboard faster on the smaller screen, check social media, browse photos; virtually anything you can do with your fingers on the physical device you can from the computer. Playing games is possible but depending on the game it may not be ideal for this setup- truthfully it’s not meant for that.

Setup is pretty simple. The core app is basically meant for settings, and depending on your device manufacturer you may be required to download an engine app to compliment the setup. Then you will have to register by choosing an email address and set a connection password. From there it is vital you download the PC app  or Mac app. If you’re connecting via WiFi ensure that both computer and Android are on the same network. Otherwise plug in by USB (recommended). Once the app is installed on your desktop or laptop simply open and supply the connection password previously entered into the mobile app and voilà your phone or tablet screen is on your computer!

The interface will sit inside a mini phone or tablet device- orientation changes as necessary. There are a few shortcuts that are hinted throughout the experience. You’ll notice the top bar illuminates to reveal a few feature options like; take a screenshot, start screen recording, hand write on the screen, browse the device’s files and visit the app settings. The same goes for the bottom of the interface for revealing menu options. The top notification window can be pulled down and actioned upon including dismissing or opening. Plus you can wake the device, expand to full screen if desired, toggle volume, etc.

Mobizen does what many other apps cannot and that’s is allowing you to record the screen in real time without the need to root your device. And it differs from alternative solutions like BlueStacks since it is allows for Android apps on your computer directly whereas with Mobizen you’re controlling your Android device directly. Additionally, you can take screenshots and receive a small notification on the desktop when text messages come in. Lastly, you can easily drag and drop files from device to computer or computer to Android device. It’s totally packed with convenience features.

You don’t necessarily have to install a desktop app- Mobizen works from their website meaning you can remotely access your phone from anywhere. Once setup you simply log into their website  and just as the desktop app you have a real-time preview of your screen, control it online plus there are a few features that group your device music, photos, videos, files and call logs for easy browsing. Additionally, you can screen record, take a snapshot, hand write onto the screen with the whiteboard, toggle full screen and input text.

Android anywhere

Imagine the possibilities with an app like Mobizen…

  • Access your phone from anywhere!
  • Continue to be on your phone without getting caught by your boss… (Shhh!)
  • Continue phone operation from computer without picking up device
  • A great presentation tool
  • Take a remote photo
  • Take screen shots
  • Real-time screen recording is highly useful for developers and creatives
  • and plenty more!

Please note: not all devices support all features such as screen recording. See Mobizen’s FAQ for troubleshooting questions .
