Turn off developer options

Change language

To change the language of the device and menus, follow these steps:

1. From any Home screen, tap Apps .
2. Tap Settings .
3. Select the My device tab.
4. Scroll down to 'Input and control,' then tap Language & input .
5. Tap Language .
6. Select the desired language.

First time use

Prepare the battery and SIM card

Before using the device, you need to insert the battery and SIM card. To prepare the battery and SIM card, see these steps:

1. Tap to select desired language.

     • Sound balance
     • Mono audio (on/off)
     • Turn off all sounds (on/off)
     • Flash notification (on/off)
   • [Mobility]
   • Assistant menu (on/off)
   • Tap and hold delay
     • Short
     • Medium
     • Long
   • [Recognition]
   • Interaction control (on/off)
3. Tap Next .
4. If desired, follow instructions to set up Wi-Fi.
5. Tap Next.
6. If desired, follow instructions to set up Samsung account.
7. Tap Skip to bypass and move to next screen.
8. If desired, follow instructions to set up Google account.
9. Tap Not Now to bypass and move to next screen.
10. If desired, check the following boxes:
    • Google's location service
    • Location and Google search
11. Tap Next .
12. If desired, follow instructions to:
    Assign Device Owner Set up or create Dropbox account Learn about key features
    S Beam Voice control Smart stay Easy mode
    System Manger

Time & date

Auto-update time (NITZ)

To set the device clock to automatically update based on what time zone it is in, follow these steps:

Note. When you enter a different time zone and turn on your device, it automatically updates to the new time. This feature is network-dependent and may not be available in all areas.

1. From any Home screen, tap Apps .
2. Tap Settings .
3. Select the More.. tab.
4. Scroll down to 'System Manger,' then tap Date & time .
5. Check the box next to Automatic date & time .
6. Check the box next to Automatic time zone .
7. If desired, tap the box next to Use 24-hour format .

Set time & date

To set the time and date of the device clock, follow these steps:

1. From any Home screen, tap Apps .
2. Tap Settings .
3. Select the More.. tab.
4. Scroll down to 'System Manger,' then tap Date & time .
5. Clear the box next to Automatic date & time .
6. Tap Set date and enter the date.
7. Tap Set time and enter the time.
8. Clear the box next to Automatic time zone .
9. Tap Select time zone and choose time zone.
10. If desired, check or clear 24-hour format .
11. If desired, tap Select date format and choose format.
