What size memory card for sony xperia z

According to Sony Mobile, the Xperia Z officially supports removable storage up to and including 32GB. However multiple sources - inclduing an endless plethora of comments on GSMArena - claim that 64GB memory cards work fine (as long as the memory card is formatted in the Xperia Z itself)!

What size memory card for sony xperia z

Has anyone here actually used a 64GB in their (Telstra-branded/purchased) Xperia Z?

Did the 64GB memory card work, and did you have to do anything "special" to get it to work? What sort of 64GB memory card (brand, model, speed rating) did you use?

Theoretically it should be fine if so many people are claiming to have successfully used 64GB memory cards in their Xperia Z smartphones. But there is the small (remote) possibility that Telstra have changed something in the firmware to break this compatibility, hence the reason for this post (I'm about to to buy three Xperia Z smartphones, three cradles and three memory cards - it's a lot to outlay if it doesn't work!).
