How to Play Pokemon on Android Phones/Tablet

On Google Play Store you can find a number of additive games for android phones & tablets. But old Nintendo games are still being missed by people of 80’s and 90’s decade. Pokemon is also one of the most popular video game that I used to play on my Nintendo gaming console. Most of the people would like to Play Pokemon on Android devices just like me. Pokemon game is not available on Google Play Store but still you can play it on android phone. Follow the simple guide below in order to install & play pokemon on your android device.

How to Install Pokemon on Android Devices?

Step 1: Installation of GameBoid Emulator

We will be using Gameboy Advance Emulator formerly known as Gameboid, for the installation of Pokemon on android. Unfortunately it is also not available at android market and you can download it from SourceForge by clicking on the link below:

After downloading the APK file, connect your mobile with PC and copy the APK file to your device memory.

Now disconnect your device and enable the installation of apps from unknown sources from the settings panel of your mobile.

Using File Manager App. access your device memory and open the Gameboid APK file that you just copied from PC.

Open the APK file and follow the instructions in order to complete the installation process.

Step 2: Download Pokemon ROM for GameBoid

In order to play the game on your phone or tablet, you will need to download its ROM. In simple words, Pokemon ROM is the actual game file that is required to be copied in order to play it via Gameboid emulator. You can also find the ROMs of other popular games like Zelda or Super Mario just by typing the game name and ROM via Google search.

You can also browser the CoolRom website to find the GBA Roms of any game you like. Alternatively you can follow the links below in order to download Pokemon ROM files.

Step 3: Copy the ROM & BIOS File to Android Device

Connect your mobile device with computer and create a new folder on your mobile storage and name it as GameBoid. Now copy the Pokemon ROM .gba file to your device memory.  Download the BIOS file of GameBoid Emulator from this link and copy it to the GameBoid folder you just created. After copying the ROM files & BIOS file, disconnect your device.

Step 4: Enjoy Playing the Pokemon Game

Run the Gameboid application in your phone and browse the GameBoid folder in which you copied the ROM files. Open the ROM file that you copied earlier and start Enjoying Pokemon on your Android phone / tablet. You can anytime download and copy new ROM files to the same folder and enjoy playing your favorite GBA games on your phone.
